Requirements

In this class exercise, we were tasked with creating a beautiful picture of still life scene. We need to apply the shaders, create lighting and render the scene.

Readme

Since this class exercise focuses only on shading, texturing, lighting and rendering, my exercise was based on an existing model from a Pluralsight online video tutorial "Your First Day with Shading Networks in Maya 2015".

For the shading step, I created Phong surfaces for the golden abstract object and for some balls which have very reflective surface. The floor was surfaced with a Lambert material. The marble material is the most complex one in the exercise. The Color, Incandescence and Specular Color are 3D texture Rock whose Colors attributes are further determined by 3D texture Stucco.

I put two spot lights into the scene and then used the Mental Ray renderer shipped with Maya 2016 to render the scene. The final picture is indeed beautiful in my point of view.
